AEM Senior Developer (Backend) Freelance

We are looking for a Senior Backend AEM Developer to join our team to develop and deliver a high impact website project for a 3 month engagement, with the potential for additional projects after.

This role will be dedicated to developing all back-end functionality for the AEM application, including OSGI packages, Sling Models and developing component-driven Sightly templates. 

Additionally, we are looking for a developer who is experienced in developing SpringBoot Java applications, implementing integrated search solutions with software such as Solr/Algolia, and overseeing the deployment of these to Tomcat web servers on AWS.

You will need proven experience in developing AEM back-end templates, dialogs, fragments, services and packages, and handing off to and supporting front-end developers.

Please note: This is a 4-month freelance contract role. No visa transfers or visa sponsorships will be offered at this time. We are also not able to offer corp-to-corp contracts.

This position is REMOTE and is associated with the AKQA San Francisco studio. 

 ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as a Senior Backend Developer with expertise in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) 6.5 or higher.
  • Senior skills in implementing scalable solutions in AEM using Java, Sling, OSGi, and HTL.
  • Familiarity with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines in Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service, AWS and Tomcat
  • Hands-on experience with off-AEM search implementation (i.e. Solr, Algolia)
  • Excellent technical skill, problem-solving, and communication abilities
  • Proven ability to balance fast-changing project requirements whilst maintaining delivery milestones

QUALITIES AND CHARACTERISTICS

  • 5+ years’ experience working as a senior developer
  • Proven experience as a senior developer working on AEM 6.5, deployed through Adobe Experience Manager as a Cloud Service
  • Strong back-end skillset (Java, OSGi, Sightly templating)
  • Some experience or working knowledge in front-end (HTML5, CSS3, JS) preferred
  • Eager to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Experience with web application development
  • Able to articulate their ideas to a cross-functional team
  • Thrives when facing new challenges in improving client deliverables
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and able to interact professionally with a diverse group of people
  • Boundlessly creative and relentlessly attentive to detail

 

The pay range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.

Weekly pay rate between $3400 - $4,200
