“Don’t use technology for technology’s sake.”

Former CEO and current Advisor at Tribeca Enterprises, parent company to the Tribeca Film Festival, Andrew Essex and film director Armen Perian joined AKQA Group Technology Director David Justus for a panel discussion on the future of storytelling.

Moderated by AKQA New York Group Creative Director David Clarke, the panel explored how future technologies such as virtual reality, augmented reality and social media will impact the way storytellers craft experiences. At the end, Armen best summarised the panel’s point of view as: “You have to just ask – does a technology or platform fundamentally enhance an experience? If not, it shouldn’t be used.”
