AKQA has unveiled its new leaders for the global marketing team, appointing Gemma Redgrave to Global Head of Marketing, and Haley Hammerling as Global Head of Communications.
Previously AKQA’s Marketing Director, Gemma Redgrave, has been elevated to the role of Global Head of Marketing. With over a decade of experience leading cross-functional teams, Gemma’s tenure at AKQA has been marked by her instrumental role in achieving global recognition, including securing Agency of the Year accolades and multiple Grand Prix awards at leading creative festivals. An accomplished speaker and thought leader, she has delivered keynote addresses at Cannes Lions and guest lectures at institutions such as the London College of Fashion and the University of Bath.
She was named the #1 Global Awards Manager by Creativepool, included in The Dots Rising Star list, and has received recognition from Oxford Brookes Business School. Additionally, Gemma has contributed to industry advancement as a judge for prestigious shows like Cannes Lions and as a member of the University of Bath Employer Forum steering group.
Haley Hammerling, formerly Senior PR Director at AKQA, steps into the role of Global Head of Communications. With 15 years of experience in strategic communications, Haley has built a reputation for crafting compelling narratives, developing thought leadership initiatives, and aligning communication strategies to deliver impactful results across regions.
Since joining AKQA in 2017 as North America PR Manager, Haley has driven the agency’s global communications strategy, successfully elevating its brand presence. Her leadership has secured high-profile speaking engagements and media visibility while building strong collaboration with leadership teams. Haley’s nuanced understanding of the media landscape and her innovative storytelling approach have been vital in navigating complex communication challenges.
In their respective roles, Gemma and Haley have been integral to the success of Future Lions, AKQA’s flagship global student competition, overseeing its marketing and communications initiatives. Their leadership has ensured its ongoing success as a launchpad for emerging creative talent. As they take on their new responsibilities, they look forward to shaping the future of the program together, amplifying its impact and relevance on the global stage.
In her new role, Haley will oversee global internal and external communications while co-leading the Global Marketing team alongside Gemma. Together, they will bring their complementary expertise to enhance brand visibility, foster creative excellence, and deliver integrated strategies that support AKQA’s mission to create a better future.
