AKQA Casa: A decade of igniting imagination

AKQA Casa 10 year

For 10 years, AKQA Casa has nurtured a unique collaborative ecosystem.

A cultural hub for São Paulo’s creative community, AKQA Casa is an environment where art and science come together to invite and encourage a collaborative approach to creating the future. Diverse talents from artists, writers, musicians and technologists, alongside clients, unite to craft impactful work at the intersection of creativity, technology and culture. Collaboration with global brands including TikTok, Nike, Netflix and Uber pushes creative boundaries and fuels innovation.

Diego Machado, Global Chief Creative Officer at AKQA said: “With It’s What’s Inside - The Game for Netflix, AKQA Casa collaborated with AKQA’s Melbourne studio to push the boundaries of AI-powered storytelling, demonstrating how technology can redefine interactive entertainment. Additionally, with Never Done Evolving, celebrating Nike’s 50th anniversary with Serena Williams, AKQA Casa partnered with AKQA Portland, besides Melbourne, to inspire a new generation of athletes to push their limits.”

Storytelling lies at the heart of AKQA Casa’s work.

Never afraid to tackle challenging narratives, AKQA Casa has launched industry defining work including Code of Conscience a cyber shield around natural reserves, Google Arts and Culture Offside Museum recovering women’s hidden football history and Reframing the Greatness of Black creating more inclusive forms of representation within film.

During the previous decade, the work launched from the studio has garnered industry recognition across multiple festivals resulting in 49 Gold and 10 Grand Prix awards including Cannes Lions, Clios, Webbys and D&AD pencils. The studio has also been named Agency of the Year within Brazil multiple times and received recognition for the architecture and design of the building itself.

Most recently, Diamonds, Tears and Faces to Forget (Diamantes, Lágrimas e Rostos para Esquecer), a film created to launch the latest album of the same name by rising Brazilian rap artist BK’ and AKQA’s first fictional film, 2Brasis, exemplifies the studio’s commitment to crafting compelling narratives.
