AKQA wins 81st Agency of the Year Award
Creativepool has honoured AKQA with the People’s Choice Agency of the Year award for demonstrating the highest calibre of creative excellence, unprecedented achievements and breakthrough work over the past year. This win represents AKQA’s 81st Agency of the Year award since its founding.
AKQA has also won four Bronze and a People’s Choice award across Advertising Digital, Production, Music and Sound, and Animation. Now in its tenth year, Creativepool Annual is a compendium of the best work and talent in the creative industry, judged by panels of brand marketers and agency leaders, and the voting public.
As the People’s Choice Agency of the Year, AKQA is celebrated for its memorable narratives that spark change and exceptional growth powered by significant service, experience and product design for clients and communities around the world in the previous year. Notable recognition is also given to AKQA’s commitment to diversity through employee-led initiatives including Roots, a resource group that addresses systemic racism, and educational endeavours, such as Future Lions, that aim to nurture emerging global talent.
In my opinion, this is the strongest submission and the strongest work so far. Congratulations to all the people of AKQA!

Little Wings
2022 marked the centennial celebration of the North American premiere of Shchedryk at New York’s Carnegie Hall – a timely opportunity to discover and share its roots of hope and joy through the artistic talent of Ukraine for the holiday season. A gift to the world, Little Wings, AKQA’s handmade 2D animation crafted in collaboration with Ukrainian artist Mariia Shub and animation director Rodion Shub, is recognised with the highest accolade in the Animation category with the People’s Choice award.
Bronze, Advertising Digital and Production
Meet the Auburns
The World Gold Council’s Meet the Auburns has also won a Bronze award in both the Advertising Digital and Production categories. Johann Evanno, Global Marketing Director at Logitech, said: “Smart idea to create personas reflecting the different audiences, and speaking their language, to remove the reasons why people would not want to buy gold. Overall a good idea, well executed – and disruptive to break through the financial communication switch off habit.”
Bronze, Music and Sound
Help Changes Everything
GoFundMe’s Help Changes Everything has been awarded Bronze in the Music and Sound category for best use of original compositions and sound design, judged on originality, emotion and technical skill. Sarah Jones, General Manager at Songkick, commented on GoFundMe’s impressive storytelling, sharing that the music transition with the visuals “demands emotional engagement from the audience on every level”.
Bronze, Music and Sound
For Life
Volvo Cars’ For Life has also received Bronze in the Music and Sound category. The story of safety as a catalyst for progress heralds in the emotive and anthemic film, with real-life stories and everyday moments amplified through the soundtrack of Don’t Stop Me Now as re-recorded by Seinabo Sey.
