Cannes Lions appoints Geoff Northcott and Eduardo Maruri as Jury Presidents
AKQA Chief Experience Officer and Managing Partner Geoff Northcott and Grey Europe President and CEO Eduardo Maruri have been appointed Cannes Lions Jury Presidents for the Creative Business Transformation and Sustainable Development Goals categories.
Geoff Northcott is Jury President for the new Creative Business Transformation Lion which celebrates the expanding role of creativity and the breadth of new creative approaches that are now being used to create value and drive competitive advantage alongside traditional brand communications. It recognises the ability to develop new products and services and reinvent operations and customer experiences to drive transformative change.
Geoff Northcott said: “Organisations today face disruptive forces that can be both golden opportunity and existential threat. This category is an incredibly exciting addition to the Cannes Lions, recognising the power of creativity to respond positively to change by inventing what’s next. It’s a privilege to represent AKQA as Jury President, and help elevate the work that’s generating growth by unlocking transformative futures.”
Eduardo Maruri has been appointed Sustainable Development Goals Jury President. Eduardo is one of the most awarded creative leaders in Latin America, having accumulated awards including more than 100 Lions and two Grand Prix.
Eduardo Maruri said “We don’t need more awareness programs this year, we need solutions, and not only across a few Sustainable Development Goal’s, but across all 17 of them.”
Cannes Lions is scheduled to occur from 21-25 June 2021 and will incorporate the 2020 and 2021 Lions award shows.
