Reaching new heights: AKQA wins 11 Webby Awards
Free Fire’s Anitta Squad has won the People’s Voice Webby Award for Public Service and Social Impact, alongside Loro Piana’s The Gift of Kings, which has received the Webby Award for the Best Use of Web3 Technology. AKQA’s work has also been recognised with five Nominees and four Honourees, making it AKQA’s most successful year yet.
The Webby Awards is the leading international award honouring excellence on the Internet and recognising influential creators driving conversation at the intersection of technology and culture. Presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, the awards have a judging body of over 3,000 members.
People’s Voice Winner
Free Fire x Anitta Squad
Free Fire collaborated with global chart-topping singer Anitta to support in-game inclusivity and highlight the representation of female and LGBTQIAP+ players. Anitta is spotlighted as the first female celebrity to transform into a playable Free Fire character, using the nickname her fans call her, The Boss. The new single, Squad, launches the partnership with a vibrant music video to portray the Boss’ epic arrival in the game scene.

Loro Piana The Gift of Kings
Receiving the Webby Award for the Best use of Web3 Technology, the digital platform leverages Aura Blockchain’s advanced technology, allowing customers to scan a QR code on their garments to track their journey from the field to the shop floor. The initiative identifies as the perfect balance between craft, tradition and a digital presence, serving as a certificate of authenticity and ownership.
Webby Nominees
Featuring Volvo Car’s EX30 Unboxing for Advertising and Media and Long Form categories as Honourees, the whimsical film shares a unique perspective on how even the smallest SUV can pack a big punch on safety, sustainability and design.
Congresso em Foco’s Transparency Card was also nominated for Responsible Innovation, the initiative has simplified and democratised access to data, exposing the corruption in political spending to the public.
Additionally, Common Sense Media App was nominated for Kids and Family, developed by ArcTouch, the accessibility-first approach has enhanced online safety and equity for children and teens.

Chick-fil-A’s Code Moo for Game or Applications has been awarded as a Nominee along with Transparency Card for Best Social Impact, Fixmas for Best Use of AI, Dell Technologies Homepage for Websites and Mobile Sites Best User Experience and Abebe Bikila’s Icarus for Experience Marketing.
