Occhio, a luxury lighting company based in Munich, faced a unique challenge. The Occhio Luminaries and the perfect light they cast are indescribable, something customers and potential partners have only been able to truly experience in-store.
Occhio partnered with AKQA to transform its digital space and bring that real-life light experience to Occhio.com. This collaboration, grounded in a deep understanding of Occhio’s ethos and business objectives, embarked on a multi-phase journey to infuse the signature Culture of Light into the digital realm.

Through extensive research and close collaboration with the Occhio founder and principal designer, AKQA crafted a digital strategy and value proposition centred around unlocking a life enriched by Culture of Light. The work encompassed redefining the brand’s digital space and new Occhio website according to user-centric design principles and creating immersive product and lifestyle experiences.
The website’s focus was moved from product-led to customer-focused, introducing a universal design system that leverages rich media and storytelling for a unique experience where features are not just shown but felt.
