Insight

Brazil still faces mobility issues involving traffic congestion and crowded public transport.

Since its arrival in Brazil, Uber has been finding solutions to help people get around the city in the best possible way.

Idea

New and fun ways for people to get around.

To celebrate ten years of Uber in Brazil, two new fun ways for people to get around the country were initiated: Uber Slide and Uber Boat. The first, a pair of slides, one 70 metres and one 10 metres long, take people from one street to another, avoiding the need to descend over 200 steps. The second, a boat that crosses the Marginal Pinheiros Avenue, one of the most congested avenues in São Paulo, saving time on the journey.

Impact

An innovative approach to urban mobility.

The activations saw 6,000 participants across ten days, averaging approximately 613 participants per day. The Uber Boat saw 15 minutes saved per trip compared to a car, accounting for 135 minutes saved per day and 1,350 minutes in total.

The Uber Slide led participants in Rio de Janeiro to avoid 1,200 steps. In São Paulo, participants avoided 612,000 metres by using the slide.

The installations garnered widespread coverage, appearing in major Brazilian media outlets. This attention translated into significant public engagement, with thousands experiencing the unique rides and actively participating in the online conversation, underscoring the event's popularity and success.
